Jennifer Lawrence appeared on Seth Meyers‘ New Year’s Eve 2017 special and opened up about her dog Pippi, whose full name was not correctly reported until now.
“My dog’s name is, contrary to what Vanity Fair wrote, not Pippi Longstocking. Her name is Pippi Lawrence-Stocking,” the 26-year-old Passengers actress said in the interview.
“Pippi was so upset,” Jen joked. “I got a call from her publicist.”
Jennifer talked in depth about her obsession with her pet pooch and she chatted with Seth about having their dogs sit for pictures and portraits. Watch below!

Her romance with Darren Aronofsky has been heating up.
But Jennifer Lawrence has joked that it makes her feel ‘miserable’ to see how happy her co-star Chris Pratt and his wife Anna Faris are.
The actors stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday where they discussed their new movie Passengers.Jennifer also praised Chris for helping her out when she was afraid of the stunt work required for their new movie, which is set in outer space.’He’s much, much nicer than me. He’s like a hard worker, he has a good attitude, he’s very positive. I’m just like, “When are we leaving?”’ she said.
‘And he had to do basically everything because I suffer from paranoia mixed with delusions. So I thought that if I were in a harness I would never be able to bear children. So he took care of all the harness work. He did all of it.’
When Ellen asked Jennifer if she really believed that might happen, she said with a laugh, ‘Yes, I’m sick.’
‘I put in on for one second and was like, “Hell no.” I mean I had to ultimately do it, I just complained a lot,’ she added, before joking that she didn’t ‘really’ know what the part entailed.

Jennifer Lawrence may not be happy, but she’s hopeful.
The actress responded to President-elect Donald Trump’s victory, in an essay posted Thursday morning that she wrote for Broadly, Vice’s women’s interest channel. In it, Lawrence asks Americans to think long and hard about the state of the country, and to not place blame on others for Hillary Clinton’s defeat.
“I want to be positive; I want to support our democracy, but what can we take away from this? It’s a genuine question that we all need to ask ourselves,” writes the Oscar-winning actress. “We shouldn’t blame anyone, we shouldn’t riot in the streets. We should think strongly and clearly about what to do next because we cannot change the past.”
As an outspoken opponent of Trump, Lawrence noted that women must work exponentially harder than their male counterparts in order to be heard and taken seriously. “We’re all allowed to be sad that the present isn’t what we thought it was. But we mustn’t be defeated,” Lawrence writes. “We will keep educating ourselves and working twice as hard as the man next to us because we know now that it is not fair.”
The actress also wrote that, although sadness weighs heavily on those who supported Clinton, especially for women and people of color, the fight for progress is not over.
“Do not let this defeat you — let this enrage you! Let it motivate you!” Lawrence write. “Let this be the fire you didn’t have before. If you are an immigrant, if you are a person of color, if you are LGBTQ+, if you are a woman — don’t be afraid, be loud!”
Things appear to be heating up between Jennifer Lawrence and her new man Darren Aronofsky.
The 26-year-old actress enjoyed a romantic date with the Black Swan director in New York on Wednesday and seemingly couldn’t keep her hands off her 47-year-old beau.
The duo – who are yet to confirm they’re dating – wrapped up in scarves as they strolled holding hands, stopping every now and again to steal a kiss. The Joy star looked great in a stylish black coat and tight jeans which she paired with suede ankle boots.
Darren, who has a 10-year-old son with actress Rachel Weisz, opted for a smart shirt and trousers with grey scarf and flat cap to keep out the chill.
At one point the Oscar winner wrapped her arms around her boyfriend for a playful hug as they walked together. It looked just like a scene from a romcom as the couple stopped outside a flower shop gazing at each other before going in for a smooch.
Lawrence and Aronofsky reportedly grew close when they worked on an untitled movie together this summer.
The drama, directed by Aronofsky, is about uninvited guests that disrupt the lives of a couple. The film also stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Javier Bardem. The new couple were first spotted enjoying dinner together in August in the Brooklyn neighborhood of New York.
Over the weekend the twosome were spotted looking blissfully happy as they stepped out with Lawrence’s dog Pippi.
Proving just how close they’ve become the duo even shared a lollipop on the outing according to E! News. Lawrence last dated Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, 39, following his split from Gwyneth Paltrow.
And last week People reported Lawrence seems ‘relaxed’ around Darren.
‘She struggled when she dated Chris and seemed very stressed out,’ a source said.
‘With Darren, it will probably be different. He does not attract attention like Chris does.’
No one wants to pit two powerful women against each other, but that’s kind of what will inevitably happen soon between these two A-listers.
Leading ladies Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Lawrence will be thrown into an involuntary comparison battle in the near future, as the two stars are each slated to portray the late Zelda Fitzgerald in dueling biopics.
The Jazz Age icon and wife of author F. Scott Fitzgerald died nearly 70 years ago in a fire at a North Carolina hospital, but her life has been at the forefront of Hollywood’s inspiration as of late.
Just as Amazon rolls out its own series, Z: The Beginning of Everything, with Christina Ricci playing the “first American flapper,” films starring Johansson and Lawrence, respectively, are said to be on the fast-track to hitting the big screen. The films are said to dive into Fitzgerald’s personal life, portraying parts of her livelihood that may have been glazed over through history. Along with being a literary muse to her famous husband, she was an author herself, and struggled with her own madness (she was diagnosed with schizophrenia and institutionalized).
Lawrence’s project, called Zelda, is being spearheaded by renowned director Ron Howard. J.Law will also be reconnected with Hunger Games executive Allison Shearmur, who is producing. Emma Frost (The White Queen) wrote the screenplay, which is inspired by Nancy Milford’s best-selling biography of the same name.
Meanwhile, Johansson’s film is titled The Beautiful and the Damned, and is based on the F. Scott Fitzgerald classic of the same name, which illustrated the dynamics of his marriage to Zelda. The project has yet to snag a director, however, it does have one secret weapon up its sleeve.
Millenium Films, which is financing the movie, secured the cooperation of the Fitzgerald estate, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and “will incorporate newly unearthed transcripts from a sanatorium in which Zelda Fitzgerald was confined that indicate her husband misappropriated his wife’s ideas as his own.”
While the premise of each film has been disclosed, production dates and slated release dates have yet to be determined.
Regardless, each film will become a blockbuster in its own right, thanks to their leading ladies. Both Lawrence and Johansson made it on Forbes’ annual list of highest-earning female movie stars for 2016

Don’t you just hate it when you wake up 90 years too early from suspended animation and realise you’re on a spaceship, but the rest of the 5000 passengers are still safely sleeping? Well, that’s exactly what happens to Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt in their new movie, Passengers, and judging by the trailer things are about to go from bad to worse.
JLaw and Chris wake up on the spaceship, Starship Avalon, on its 120-year voyage to a distant colony planet known as ‘Homestead II’. The ship has a malfunction in two of its sleep chambers and as a result, two hibernation pods open prematurely and the two people that awoke are husband and wife Aurora and Jim Preston, who are stranded on the spaceship, still 90 years from their destination. As the only two people awake they try and make the best of the situation by doing normal things like going to work and having date nights. In one scene, Jen is seeing unable to contain herself, and her emotions, as she clambers over a dinner table and throws herself onto her husband as they share a passionate kiss.

“I’m the baby and the only girl born in my family in 50 years and the only girl born since. My brother just had two boys. My other brother’s wife is pregnant. I said to my brother, ‘Dude, get ready. You’re going to have a boy.’ Lawrences only make boys. I was a goddamn miracle.”

Joel Edgerton is in early talks to join Jennifer Lawrence in Fox’s spy thriller “Red Sparrow.” Frances Lawrence is directing the film which Fox has already dated for Nov. 10, 2017.
The film is based on the Jason Matthews novel of the same name. Justin Haythe re-wrote the script, originally by Eric Warren Singer. Steve Zaillian is producing with Chernin Entertainment and Garrett Basch is exec produer.
The book is set in modern-day Russia in the intelligence bureaucracy with a young woman drafted against her will to become a “sparrow,” a trained seductress assigned to operate against a first-tour CIA officer who handles the agency’s most sensitive penetration of Russian intelligence. The two young intelligence officers fall into a spiral of attraction and deception that results in her leading life as a double agent.
Jennifer Lawrence: inspiration to many. For one, “Star Trek Beyond” co-writer and star Simon Pegg, who revealed in a press conference Thursday that the new character Jaylah, was inspired by Lawrence in the film “Winter’s Bone.”
“We were trying to create this very independent character. But we didn’t have a name for it,” Pegg said. “So we just called it ‘Jennifer-Lawrence-In-Winter’s-Bone.’”
“That’s a long name,” the writer and actor joked. “So it started getting tiring always saying, well Jennifer-Lawrence-In-Winter’s-Bone is fighting here. So then we started calling her J-Law. And then she became Jaylah.”
In the film, Jaylah is played by Sofia Boutella. Pegg said in the same press conference that she is a welcome addition to the “Star Trek” crew.
“We love Sofia, she’s a nutcase and a golden edition to this group,” he said. “There are not a lot of girls in Star Trek. Zoe [Saldana as Uhura] has a lot on her shoulders.”
Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, and Saldana return for “Star Trek Beyond,” directed by Justin Lin.
Earlier this month it was revealed that John Cho’s character, Sulu, would be the film franchise’s first openly gay character. Pegg and Lin made the decision as a nod to George Takei, who played Sulu in “Star Trek: The Original Series.”
Variety critic Owen Gleiberman wrote in his review that Lin “brings his bravura action energy and a certain nostalgic flair” to the film, although he, “unboldly goes where too many have gone before.”
Jennifer Lawrence can finally feel vindicated following a painful experience when she was the victim of hacking. Andrew Helton, the man who plead guilty to hacking Jennifer Lawrence, Gabrielle Union, Kate Upton, Hope Solo, as well as others’ personal accounts, over two years ago, has been sentenced to six months in prison for the offense.
As The Hollywood Take reminds, Helton eventually admitted to hacking into hundreds of email accounts and to stealing 161 “nude and explicit photos” from 13 different victims. Following his six-month sentence, Helton will then serve two years of supervised release after leaving prison.
The crimes were referred to as a hacking scandal, yet Jennifer Lawrence was outraged by the whole ordeal that she states is not a scandal but a “sex crime.” The actress spoke to Vanity Fair.
“It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime. It is a sexual violation. It is disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change.”
Lawrence then went on to accuse anyone who viewed the nude photos that Helton shared of being guilty by association.
“[A]nybody who looked at those pictures, you’re perpetuating a sexual offense. You should cower with shame. Even people who I know and love say, ‘Oh, yeah, I looked at the pictures.’ I don’t want to get mad, but at the same time I’m thinking, I didn’t tell you that you could look at my naked body.”
Although Helton was the most well-known hacker in the scandal, there were others who were also able to access the same stars’ accounts two years ago.
Ryan Collins was another who plead guilty back in March and then entered a plea deal. The publication reminds of the activity which led Collins to compromise the personal information and pictures of the various celebrities, including Jennifer Lawrence.
“Collins pled guilty to one count of unauthorized access to a protected computer to get information. He is serving an 18-month sentence. He would send e-mails that looked like they came from Apple or Google to victims warning them that their accounts were compromised and asking for their account details. He would then download their emails and iCloud backups.”
The hackers became worldwide news back in August of 2014 and shocked people with their abilities that led to hacking into celebrities’ iClouds, leaking almost 500 private pictures involving many of the said nude photos. As Vanity Fair shared back when the scandal was uncovered, the hackers chose to post the photos on several sites, including 4Chan, Reddit, Twitter, and Tumblr.
At the time, Lawrence admitted to being terrified that the pictures which were hacked and shared of her in the nude would affect her rocketing career.
“I was just so afraid,” Jennifer now says. “I didn’t know how this would affect my career.”
The crimes sparked an F.B.I investigation and the culprits have since been brought to justice, yet the victims of the hacks will likely always be affected by the senseless acts.
